{ Review Friday } MAC Powder Blush in Mocha

I am about as pale as they come. I used to be even more pale, but now I live in Arizona and I’ve acquired quite a few freckles from being poolside at least once a week.

Us pale girls sometimes have it rough when it comes to makeup. It’s hard to find a shade of foundation that’s light enough. It’s impossible to use bronzer because it looks like we have dirt on our face. And blush is tricky because we don’t want to look like a cheap hooker… But we don’t want to look whited out either.

Enter MAC Powder Blush in Mocha. It’s perfecto, girls. (And it looks good on tan beauties too!) You know when you go to the gym and you work out and then your cheeks have this amazing pink flush in the perfect spot? This blush gives that flush! (And none of the sweaty shine that the gym gives you!)

At $21 it’s pricey, but I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and it’s not even half way gone. A little goes a long way. Go to your local MAC Counter and try it out! Let me know what blush you love.

    • For mascara I’m obsessed with Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara. It’s honestly the best I’ve ever used. It thickens, and separates, and lengthens. As for eye shadow, I’d recommend going to your local makeup counter (MAC charges to do makeovers now so maybe try Bobbi Brown or Lancome or another one that you like) and have them do a makeover on you. Just tell them what you want, an every day look or something more sultry, and then see if you can get a sample of the products they use on you, and then find drug store colors that are similar if you don’t want to fork out the big bucks. Or just have them write the colors down for you so you can pull up images on your phone when you’re at the store! It’s hard to recommend eye shadows because everything looks so different on different skin tones! But one thing I would recommend if you do fork out money for nice eye shadows is MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. It’s the most amazing eye primer and will help your shadow stick so you won’t waste precious product! Hope that helps!
